Description of Service

The Human Resources (HR) Department provides a broad range of people management services to the Hospital and our objective is to provide a professional and effective service to management and staff.  The Human Resources Department are drivers of change and a key aspect of our role is to support and assist managers and staff in their efforts to implement change within their areas of responsibility.

The HR team plays a key role in strategic planning at the NRH; we promote and support the personal development of our staff and promote a positive, family-friendly, and safe working environment.

We continue to review our HR policies and develop new policies as required that aim to meet the needs of a dynamic and constantly changing HR and health care environment.

HR works to support a positive working environment and culture within the hospital to encourage innovation, collaboration and partnership at all levels.

The HR team provides services such as:

    • recruitment and selection
    • personnel administration
    • employee relations
    • industrial relations
    • policy development
    • staff development
    • ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory and Public Service Agreement requirements

The HR department works to support all staff through the lifecycle of their employment.
