Management of Neurogenic Bowel Dysfunction: Online Courses
Intended Audience: This course is aimed specifically at Registered General Nurses (RGNs), who wish to undertake neurogenic bowel management in patients with a spinal cord injury.
This training is specific to neurogenic bowel dysfunction in patients with spinal cord injury and will include an overview of the anatomy and physiology of the bowel, including how spinal cord injury affects the bowel. It covers management strategies, bowel care programmes, simulation (practical demonstration with a mannequin).
RGNs who complete this course are encouraged to engage in supervised or peer supported clinical practice for a minimum of 3 cases afterwards.

Train the Trainer course in Neurogenic Bowel Management for Spinal Cord Injury:
This training is specific to registered nurses who wish to provide neurogenic bowel training locally.
All attendees must have previously completed a recognised course in Neurogenic Bowel Management and must have evidence from clinical practice in delivering neurogenic bowel care. [Evidence can take the form of a practice log, reflective portfolio and or a letter from a line manager].
