TY Work Experience Programme at the NRH

January 16, 2026

Transition Year (TY) Work Experience Programme at the NRH

The NRH offers a whole hospital experience to Transition Year Students on a group (rather than individual) basis.  The NRH cannot accommodate individual dates for work experience due to the large number of requests we receive annually and our other educational commitments as a University Hospital.

The group programme offers students an opportunity to meet with Staff in clinical and non-clinical Departments and learn about multiple disciplines in the hospital. Through a variety of informational and interactive activities Students gain insight into various aspects of hospital life and discover what may be their future profession within a broad range of healthcare disciplines.

The NRH runs two TY Programmes during the academic year, in autumn and in spring, with approximately 20 places in each group.  During the previous academic year, you can register for the coming year’s Programme by contacting  to ask for a link to register.

Please Note: Expressions of interest for 2026-2027 will open soon.
