Specialist Rehabilitation Services for Ireland:

Connect – Reflect – Impact

Strengthening our Connections; Reflecting on what works well and how we can improve; Impact by enhancing patient pathways, outcomes and experience

Join healthcare leaders, innovators, forward-thinking professionals and people with lived experience of rehabilitation for a transformative event designed to inspire, educate and connect.

This conference, hosted by the National Rehabilitation Hospital, brings together health professionals, clinicians, policy makers, researchers, support services, people with lived experience of rehabilitation, and international guest speakers.

It will provide a forum to discuss and exchange experiences, expertise, insights and ideas related to the field of specialist rehabilitation, across all patient demographic groups. This sharing of knowledge across the continuum of care is essential to the ongoing development of integrated specialist rehabilitation services in Ireland, within the overall context of wider health service developments, nationally and internationally.

The conference will:

  • Focus expertise and harness energy in developing fit-for-purpose specialist rehabilitation services for Ireland
  • Discuss the best use of available resources to provide quality, efficient, cost-effective rehabilitation services in an evolving healthcare environment
  • Explore how service users can access the appropriate services for their individual rehabilitation needs when, where and how they need them
  • Consider ways to strengthen the infrastructure supporting the provision of specialist rehabilitation on a national, regional and community basis, to optimise care pathways, sustainable outcomes and patient & family experience
  • Help foster collaborative practices among all relevant stakeholders
  • Provide an update on the ‘Rehabilitation 2030’ global initiative launched by the World Health Organization

Who should attend

The conference is for all those in the healthcare sector who have an interest in,
or are involved in service planning, provision, integration, and developing
specialist rehabilitation services in hospitals and in the community.

The conference is an excellent opportunity for healthcare professionals and people
