Visitor Restrictions in Place

Public Announcement – Visitor Restrictions at the NRH

In the interest of the health and safety of our patients and staff, we are asking the public:

Please do not visit the NRH at this time

These visitor restrictions are being put in place for public and patient health reasons to minimise the possible spread of infections. The NRH is delivering infection control measures and every effort is being made to manage and control the spread of infection.

In exceptional circumstances, visiting may be arranged by contacting the relevant ward manager (ward numbers are listed below).  Such exceptions may include visiting a family member under the following circumstances:

  • patients in critical care
  • vulnerable young adults
  • a family member or carer nominated to assist in the care of a patient, such as a person with high dependency needs.

Children should not visit the hospital under any circumstances.

Essential Precautions

If you are an essential visitor or a patient, please ensure you have properly washed your hands before arriving at the hospital and please use the hand hygiene gel or foam provided at our main entrances and all wards on arrival and on departure from the hospital.

Please cover your mouth and nose with a tissue if you need to cough or sneeze, put used tissues into a bin and wash your hands afterwards. Responsible hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette helps to stop the spread of viruses.

Even if you are nominated as an essential visitor, if you have been to an area with confirmed COVID-19 or have been in contact with a person with a confirmed or probable case of COVID-19 please do not visit the NRH.

Thank you for your cooperation. We regret any inconvenience these measures may cause.
